Not found free in nature. Tin has two crystalline structures. Ordinary or white tin has a hexagonal structure. When cooled below 13.2°C, it slowly changes into the useless gray tin form (tetragonal). Tin emits a high-pitched "tin cry" when bent. Tin is used in coating steel cans for corrosion resistance. Alloys of tin are also used in solder, bronze, and pewter.
